REPORTING: Pre-season programming for Wigan Athletic starts to take shape, with the confirmation of first three matches ahead

Prior to the upcoming term, Wigan Athletic has confirmed the first three games of their preseason schedule.
Additionally, fans may tuck into three mouthwatering Lancashire dishes.

First up, on Saturday, July 13 at 2pm, there will be a quick trip to Accrington Stanley for two 60-minute halves at the Wham! Stadium. Former Latics player and first-team coach John Doolan will oversee the Accies from the dugo

ut. Another Wigan old-boy, Ged Brannan, joined him as assistant manager lately.

On Friday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m., Latics will also visit Victory Park to take on Chorley FC, a National League North team.

Shaun Maloney’s squad will play Championship team Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, July 27 (3pm) at the recently renamed Brick Community Stadium to close out the month.

All pre-season match ticket details will be released in due time.

August 10–11 is the weekend when the League One campaign will start.
