REPORTING: A Derby County prodigy is drawing attention for a League Two loan.

According to Derbyshire Live, several League Two clubs are showing early interest in Derby County attacker Dajaune Brown.

In recent months, young Brown has become one of Derby County’s most promising prospects.
Following a standout season in the academy, the teenager spent the winter on loan at Gateshead, where he furthered his development. For the Heed, Brown scored ten goals in twenty games as they advanced to both the play-off and FA Trophy finals, with the latter coming about as a result of heartbreak in the former.

With his recent success in the northeast, many have wondered what the 18-year-old’s prospects for the upcoming season may be.

According to Derbyshire Live, if Derby County decides to send him out on loan once more, League Two teams have already expressed interest. That choice won’t be determined until Paul Warne has had time to consider his preseason options, with Brown expected to have an opportunity to make an impression.

After his performance in the National League, Brown’s next move is probably going to be a higher-level loan unless he manages to break into the Rams’ starting lineup.

Brown’s next course of action

Although it is still to be seen if the Jamaican striker can establish himself in the Derby County first team during the preseason, it appears that a League Two transfer would be the best next step for him.

The Rams teen’s opponent for the upcoming season must be tougher. His performance in youth football has been exceptional, and because it has translated successfully to the National League, it will be interesting to watch what he can accomplish in the EFL.

Brown has already made five appearances for the senior Derby team, most of them as substitutes.

It seems that Warne and company had been considering him for a little while before to his time at Gateshead, but his outstanding run in non-league football has only increased his prospects of breaking through at Pride Park in the future.

Options for the Rams’ striker

This summer, there will be room in the striker department for one or two new players.
Derby County decided not to renew the contracts of Martyn Waghorn and Dwight Gayle, therefore they are moving on to new pastures. It is still unclear if James Collins will continue with the team longer.

Conor Washington will be the sole senior option remaining at the top of the pitch if he moves on.

Brown would take up one striker place if he were to enter the formation. But if he is moved out on loan once more, the Rams might be looking for up to three strikers in order to prepare for a return to Championship action.
