Leeds United still hopeful of Joe Rodon deal with Tottenham amid £10m bid on the table.

While acknowledging that a deal will be challenging to complete, journalist Graham Smyth has stated Leeds United still has hope of signing Joe Rodon from Tottenham.

Despite not making the promotion, the Welshman, who was on loan from the Premier League team last season, won over a lot of fans at Elland Road.

Although it has been reported that top division teams are interested in signing him this summer (Alasdair Gold), Smyth has explained why he may still make a comeback.

Part of the case will be that he genuinely wants to be here, according to Smyth, who was speaking on the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Inside Elland Road podcast. By all accounts, Elland Road became his home during the previous season. Thus, I believe Leeds will benefit from it.

“Money doesn’t speak, and neither does Premier League standing, but when two or more of your closest friends from your international team, along with everyone you made last season, are still at Leeds – hopefully – then why not return for another year and finish what needs to be done?”

Under Daniel Farke, Rodon was a reliable presence in the defense as Leeds let up just 43 goals in the regular season.

At the conclusion of his loan, the Welshman went back to his parent club after losing to Southampton in the play-offs and missing out on promotion.

If the Whites can get Rodon back this summer, he would be a tremendous addition. Rodon was fantastic for them last season.

It might be difficult to sign him permanently right away given the amount of Premier League interest in him already.

Even if Rodon believes there is still work to be done at Elland Road, it could be difficult to pass up the chance to start in the top flight.

Even though he was excellent the previous season, the club’s financial problems this summer may make it difficult to pay £10 million on a player.
