The defender is available on a permanent transfer from Leeds, and the Ligue 1 team wants to finalize the deal as soon as possible, according to a Sun journalist via his Patreon on June 29.

Although the England Under-21 player has progressed through the Thorp Arch academy of the club, it does not appear that he will challenge for a starting position anytime soon.

Due to his little playing time, Cresswell seemed to have had a falling out with Farke. This was surprising to many after his productive loan stint with Millwall in the 2022–2023 season.

However, the central defender has only made seven professional appearances since moving back to Elland Road, and Italy expressed interest in signing him in the previous transfer window in January.

Even with Pascal Struijk sidelined, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu were preferred as the center-back duo, and the 21-year-old never appeared in the starting lineup.

With just eight Championship starts under his belt, 32-year-old Liam Cooper appeared to have greater faith from Farke.

Naturally, the Whites will need to raise money to cover outstanding transfer costs since they are now forced to play in the Championship for a more season, and Cresswell appears to be an early casualty.

Red Bull’s recent investment has probably allayed concerns about PSR at Elland Road, but despite this, some of the team’s more well-known players are still being linked to departures because of poor play this year.

Despite his demonstrated ability on the field, Cresswell has not received many opportunities, and Toulouse will gain access to him this summer for a meager £3.8 million.
