In the continuing Colorado litigation pertaining to a bankruptcy petition he filed, Shilo Sanders achieved a few minor victories.

Michael McCann of Sportico reports that the judge in the case partially dismissed John Darjean’s lawsuit, alleging that Sanders is evading payment of a multi-million dollar judgment against him by manipulating the bankruptcy procedure and certain LLCs.

If Sanders’ application under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code is approved, he will be released from the $11.89 million judgment he owes Darjean. For assaulting Darjean in 2015, Sanders was found guilty in 2022; however, Sanders did not show up for the Texas civil trial, where a jury rendered a verdict in favor of Darjean.

Pre-trial discovery will be used to resolve the remaining issues in the current case and allow both parties to view specific documents and data from one another. Additionally, it implies that both parties will have the authority to request testimony. Given that Sanders’ family has reportedly been actively involved in his NIL activity, both father Deion and younger brother Shedeur may be called to testify.
