GOOD: For the first time, Lakers LeBron James and Bronny James play together in an NBA LAST match….

LeBron James blasted a left-handed hammer home as he raced through the lane. Rejecting a shot, he leaped through the air. Though it was the last match, not much had changed on the opening night of Year 22, and James was performing the same types of tasks that he had performed on the court for a generation. He scored 19 points for the Lakers against the Phoenix Suns by halftime.
But he revealed his most recent — and possibly best — trick on Sunday night near the beginning of the second quarter.

For a four-minute, nine-second stint, LeBron James and his eldest son, Bronny, shared the court for the first time as professionals. In NBA history, it was the first occasion when a father and son shared the court.

Although the duo’s debut won’t be official NBA history until they play together during the regular season, Sunday was the first look at the greatest testament to James’ longevity as not just a pro — but as one of the league’s best.

It was a fitting Sunday for Bronny James to turn 20.

Playing pick-and-rolls and two-on-two basketball together in practice is bizarre. When they’re on the court together, it will be enjoyable, Lakers coach JJ Redick remarked prior to tip-off. “I’m thrilled about it,” Being able to contribute to history feels like a great privilege.

Although some NBA experts see the pair’s play together as a possible distraction, the early results have been overwhelmingly positive. D’Angelo Russell expressed his enjoyment on Saturday of witnessing the times spent off the floor with the first father-son team in NBA history.

Bronny James celebrated his 20th birthday on a suitable Sunday.

It’s strange to play two-on-two basketball and pick-and-rolls together during practice. It will be fun when they’re on the court together, Lakers coach JJ Redick said before tip-off. “I’m thrilled about it,” I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to make a contribution to history.

The early results have been largely good, despite the fact that some NBA gurus view the pair’s performance together as potentially distracting. On Saturday, D’Angelo Russell shared his delight at being a part of the off-court moments with the first father-son duo in NBA history.
