Dakorien Moore, a five-star wide receiver, leaves the elite SEC program to avail himself for Texas Longhorns

Dakorien Moore, a five-star wide receiver, declared on Thursday that he would be restarting his recruitment.

On August 12, the five-star wide out made his first commitment to LSU. Although Moore had previously told On3 that LSU was his ideal university, Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, and Oregon Ducks were still vying for his services.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 nationally after Moore’s decommitment.

Moore is the top wide receiver in the class of 2025 and the third overall prospect. According to the On3 industry rankings, he is the best player in Texas.

With 71 receptions for 1,523 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns, he was named to the first team of the MaxPreps Junior All-Americans. Moore led Duncanville to the Texas 6A D-I state victory during his outstanding sophomore campaign.
