BREAKING NEWS: Dallas Mavericks set to draft Bronny James.

One who is expected to go in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft might be the most well-known player. Bronny James of USC has been linked to several teams during the process; he has worked out for the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers. But according to a rumor, James is also attracting interest from the Dallas Mavericks.

According to league sources, the Mavericks are interested in choosing Bronny James with the 58th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, as reported by Stein. The Mavericks are aware that James is not likely to be eligible for selection going forward, though. According to all existing signs, LeBron James’ 19-year-old son will be chosen earlier in the second round than Dallas, which will have the final pick in the draft.

Dallas managed to win Game 4 against the Boston Celtics to extend their season and secure a spot in the NBA Finals. After one more loss, the Mavericks will enter the offseason with the intention of adding players and, barring an incredible recovery, acquiring assets to help the team win its first title since 2011.

Dallas would select James with the final pick in the draft, No. 58 overall, if he were chosen in the second round. The Mavs only have one pick this year because the New York Knicks acquired their first-round pick in 2019 via a transaction involving Kristaps Porzingis.

The first 30 picks in the NBA Draft will be revealed the day before, with the second round set to take place on June 27.

James was a four-star prospect for high school basketball at Sierra Canyon High School in California. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that takes into account all four of the major recruitment media businesses, he was the No. 25 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle.

But James suffered a heart collapse during a summer workout prior to the 2023–24 season, which caused him to miss a significant portion of it. In 25 games, he finished with an average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.

The notion of LeBron James, James’ father, playing a role must be part of the fascination around James beyond just getting him as a prospect. LeBron James, who also likes Luka Doncic, has not held back when expressing his desire to play alongside Kyrie Irving once more.

James was entirely omitted from On3’s James Fletcher’s 2024 NBA Mock Draft 4.0 list.
