A senior Ranger staff member is fired due to the Ibrox scandal.

Derek Ferguson has taken aim at the Rangers issue, which will prevent the team from opening the new campaign at Ibrox.

The club revealed in a statement on June 20 that delays in building the Copland Stand will affect games at the Light Blues’ home field. This news appears to have incited mockery from opponents in the Scottish Premiership.

Although Ferguson acknowledges that the situation is “laughable,” he is not surprised by the response. Following the announcement that a senior club employee had been fired due to the scandal [Andy Newport, June 20], the former Gers midfielder feels that the punishment is appropriate. However, he is now worried about what manager Philippe Clement will make of the most recent unfortunate setback.

“I’ve heard that there has been a sacking, and quite rightly so for whoever has been in charge of that because it’s just baffling,” he stated in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News. Obviously, the job needs to be done as soon as the season ends.

“And the way it might affect the team, being at home is such a big deal, especially with that 50,000 people cheering you on. It really does make a difference.”

“I’m not sure what the plan is; it might be Murrayfield, but it can’t be Hampden because I believe it’s out of bounds, plus there will be concerts and other events.”

Thus, where else are they able to play football? I simply believe that they should play their home games away, accept it, and move on.But that is absurd and should never occur.

And for that reason, people up here have joked about it—and I’m not just referring to Celtics supporters who enjoy a good joke and a little laugh.

“It just shouldn’t happen, and you have to wonder what Clement is thinking too.”

While construction-related problems do occasionally arise, the dismissal implies that there was a serious mistake made by the club’s management.

As he works to organize and carry out a team revamp in front of his first full season in charge in an effort to close the gap with Celtic, Clement is almost certainly going to be extremely angry himself.

He has frequently expressed his dissatisfaction with the Rangers’ never-ending injury problems, which he believes contributed to the demise of his title bid the previous season and allowed players like Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe to depart.

The last thing he needed was further difficulties to begin a season in which he will already be under pressure.
