REPORTS:The Los Angeles Lakers have officially unveiled their new City Edition uniforms and court for the 2024-25 season.
This marks a significant moment as it features the phrase “Lake Show” prominently across the chest for the first time in franchise history. The uniforms will debut on November 21 during a home game against the Orlando Magic.
“I have to say, these might just be my favorites,” said point guard D’Angelo Russell. Power forward Rui Hachimura added, “Ooh, ‘Lake Show.'” Shooting guard Max Christie, expected to have a larger role under new head coach JJ Redick, remarked, “The blend of purple and black is really cool.” LeBron James, a 20-time All-NBA forward, stated, “This definitely represents the Lakers and the city,” though his comment felt more like a straightforward description than a strong endorsement.
Players were shown an iPad with images of the redesigned Crypto.com home court, which will be featured during “City Edition” jersey nights. While the video didn’t reveal much detail about the court, it provided a brief glimpse as players displayed the iPad to the camera. Christie inquired about the new Jumbotron, saying, “We upgraded a lot this year; it’s gonna be good.” Austin Reaves commented, “Oh, I think it goes perfectly with the jerseys.” Anthony Davis asked if this would be the court for the new jerseys, noting, “That’s the first time we’ve ever had a new court, right?” Christie responded enthusiastically, “Yeah, that’s sick man; that new ‘Lake Show’ really stands out.” Rookie point guard Bronny James remarked on the design, saying, “Dang, the black is tough.” Bronny made history by playing alongside his father for the first time in a preseason game against the Phoenix Suns.
