Detroit Pistons Finally Make Final Decision on Two Players Before Free Agency.

The Pistons decide against giving a qualifying offer to two upcoming free agents.

The Detroit Pistons are clearing down their roster as the time to decide which players with options to choose from draws near. Initially, Trajan Langdon decided not to accept Evan Fournier’s team option for the upcoming campaign. There were rumors circulating on Saturday afternoon that two players would be joining him on the free market.
NBA news: James Wiseman does not receive rookie extension - Golden State Of Mind
James Wiseman, a center, is the first player to whom the Pistons decided not to issue a qualifying offer. After being traded from the Golden State Warriors in 2023, he was just a member of the squad for a year and a half.

The former No. 2 pick, who is now an unrestricted free agent, plans to pursue his NBA career somewhere. With the Pistons, Wiseman averaged 8.6 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Soon after Wiseman’s story broke, more information about the Pistons’ personnel became available. Malachi Flynn was also denied a qualifying offer by the front office, thus he will be eligible for free agency this summer.

The former first-round selection played for three different teams last season, moving around a lot. As part of the Bojan Bogdanovic transaction, he was acquired by the Detroit Pistons at the trade deadline from the New York Knicks.

Flynn made an impact even though he only played in 24 games for the Pistons. His most memorable game occurred during a defeat to the Atlanta Hawks, when he scorched for 50 points and five assists off the bench.

There’s a good chance Wiseman and Flynn, both young players who have shown potential in their early seasons, end up elsewhere in the league. Regarding the Pistons, they have about $50 million in cap space available to them as they prepare to hit free agency.
