Suliasi Vunivalu, the scoring freak is linked with a return to Rugby League.

Suliasi Vunivalu, a former Storm star and current winger for Queensland Red Rugby, is back on the NRL’s radar after his unexpected exclusion from the Wallabies prompted connections to rugby league.

Vunivalu is allegedly eager to consider his options after the Wallabies snub, even though he is under contract with both the QLD Reds and ARU until the end of 2025. The flier, who has won the Premiership twice, is expected to be in great demand.

I’ve listed five teams below who I think could be interested in signing the Wallaby winger back to rugby league.

It’s no secret that the Eels’ back five is vulnerable given their star-studded halves partnership and forward pack that is loaded with experience.

While Zac Lomax is expected to arrive in 2025, it is quite likely that he will return to the centers. It appears that Will Peninisi owns the other one.

Blaize Talagai appears to be a gifted player who is undoubtedly long-term focused on the fullback position. He’ll probably have to wait it out on the wing and cover for injuries and other Origin commitments.

Although Maika Sivo is capable of harm, she does not actively seek employment and is barely a reliable person.

Supporters of the Eels, at least on social media, have pushed the team to let Sivo go. Vunivalu is an excellent choice if they decide to take that action.

Despite spending several seasons playing in a different code, he should have little trouble returning to a position on the Eels wing. I’d take that swap any day of the week if I were an Eels fan.

Clint Gutherson is no longer 21 years old, therefore if Vunivalu decides to stick with his contract in 2025, there might be an opening in the backfield in 2026 when Talagai moves to fullback.
