Supporters anticipate seeing seasoned pros who are eager to compete for starting positions at Celtic Park in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.

That plan seemed to be derailed last summer by an attempt to bolster the team with young, unskilled players who, although having promise, didn’t provide the management enough alternatives in the wake of Jota, Aaron Mooy, and Carl Starfelt’s exits.

But balance is crucial. Even though Celtic adds more seasoned players to the mix, it’s still important to keep an eye on the next generation of players.

A teenager who has reportedly impressed club scouts searching for fresh players is Pontus Dahbo.

After being impressed by his breakthrough at BK Hacken, Celtic has placed the 18-year-old midfielder on a long-term watchlist, according to Swedish publication Fotboll Direkt.

Although it doesn’t appear like the Bhoys will try to sign him this summer, the source claims that scouts will still keep an eye on his development at the team.

Dahbo has already made 45 appearances for Hacken, and during the previous season’s UEFA Europa League group stages, he picked up some invaluable experience.

But unless he establishes himself as a consistent starter, Celtic won’t know if he can play consistently enough to make the transition to the Bhoys.

There will always be a lot of player turnover in the midfield, so if Dahbo keeps up his good play, Celtic will give him significant consideration. especially considering that Hacken is reportedly valued at £3.4 million, which is comfortably within the Bhoys’ means of acquisition.
