JUST IN: 4 rated wide receiver decommits, hurting LSU football’s recruiting chances in 2025.

A guy who had previously given the LSU Tigers his verbal commitment has left the team. Eli Lederman of ESPN reports that Jaboree Antoine, a four-star defensive back from New Iberia, Louisiana, has apparently rescinded his promise to play football for LSU.
Brian Kelly walks off the field after an LSU win
Antoine, who is in the 2025 class, has expertise in both directions. He began his career for Westgate High as a quarterback in addition to playing cornerback. Apparently, after visiting the Miami Hurricanes and the Florida State Seminoles, he decided to renounce his pledge to play football for LSU. According to Antoine, the Hurricanes and the Seminoles are his top choices for a landing location. He stated that he is “focused on moving forward” at those two institutions (h/t Hayes Fawcett of On3).

Antoine is ranked 136th on 247 Sports, 47th on ESPN 300, and 95th on Rivals, with On3 ranking him as the 61st overall talent for 2025. In terms of Louisiana 2025 prospects, he is likewise rated second by all but one of those media outlets; 247 Sports ranks him third overall in the state.

Regarding 247 Sports, the following is Andrew Ivins’ 2022 scouting report on Antoine:

This is also the second time that a top-2025 prospect has left the LSU football program; the first occurred in May of last year, when five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore decided to reclaim his Tigers commitment. Moore is most likely to sign with one of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, or Oregon Ducks in the future.

In addition to the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ole Miss Rebels, and Texas A&M Aggies, Antoine received offers from these teams prior to making his first commitment to LSU football.

The Tigers still have a good 2025 class as of right now, despite the most recent developments with Antoine. Two five-star players and nine four-star recruits make up LSU football’s 2025 class, which is currently ranked seventh by 247 Sports.

During Brian Kelly’s second season in Baton Rouge, the 2023 college football team finished with a 10-3 record and held the top spot in the Associated Press poll.

“All that fanfare for nothing?”
“It’s okay, let him go do what he wants to do; he knows where home is.” 💜💛
“They have other decommitments besides this one.”
“What’s happening at LSU? Everyone is heading out!
“Bro said that after decommitting, he would be concentrating on LSU 💀.”
“He withdraws his commitment from LSU, but he still has three other schools on his radar going forward.”

If LSU is still on his list, do you guys believe he would have done this without consulting his recruiter there? Cory and the young man had been conversing for some time now. For him, LSU is a DBU.
