Rangers fans calls for compensation from club over ‘catastrophic’ turn of events at Ibrox.

Hugh Keevins has taken aim at Rangers and their treatment of season ticket holders in the run-up to Murrayfield, which could be their next home following Ibrox’s closure.

Due to a delay in construction of the Copland Stand, the Gers will have to play their home openers in the Scottish Premiership.

A temporary transfer to play at the home of Scottish rugby is being discussed, according to a report published in The Scottish Sun on June 20.

Keevins stated that season ticket holders might face financial demands should the relocation proceed in his Sunday Mail piece on June 23, page 56.

“The fallout from Ibrox closing at the beginning of the new season will be catastrophic,” he declared.

“If moving to Murrayfield proves to be necessary, season ticket holders who were moved will have to incur additional costs. There will be compensation claims for season tickets that have lost value.

Put forth effort to develop Ibrox has encountered a roadblock that, in the worst case, will leave the team without a home for the start of the season.

It will be far from ideal if the team is forced to move the first five home games of the season to a new location.

Even while it may not be what John Bennett would have preferred to do, it is now his and his team’s responsibility to find a solution that works for everyone.

James Bisgrove is no longer with us, thus he will not be subject to any criticism arising from the frustration and delay this has created.

The Rangers are forced to choose between Hampden Park work and nothing else because of the ongoing construction there.

The distance between Ibrox and the national rugby stadium is around 50 miles, making it a tiresome trip for spectators and season ticket holders in particular.

Before things get even more messy than they currently are, the club needs to come up with a quick solution.
