Hlozek, 21, “may be set to leave” the BayArena, according to the newspaper’s print edition (page 76, June 23), even though he assisted Xabi Alonso’s team in winning the domestic double in Germany the previous season.

The £12 million-rated Czech international is reportedly being pursued by Leeds and West Ham, so there may be a “bargain to be had” for someone this summer.

Leeds United has had a very quiet start to the summer transfer window following their season-ending failure to earn promotion back to the Premier League under Daniel Farke’s leadership.

The Whites may need to sell players before the end of June for PSR reasons, which is one of the reasons it’s been silent.

On June 14, The Athletic revealed that in order to balance the accounts before the 2024–2025 season, the Yorkshire club must approve the departure of a “significant” player.

There has been talk that Leeds could sell players such as Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier, and Georginio Rutter, but there hasn’t been any concrete information regarding who might replace them.

We would anticipate that one of those players will be sold later in the month, so it doesn’t seem likely that any significant movement on new signings will occur until then.

Clubs are aware that Leeds must sell, and they will undoubtedly put in a lot of effort to force the Whites to sell until June 30, at which point they believe they can get a better bargain.

Although we don’t see that happening just yet, Hlozek might be someone Leeds is interested in. If no Premier League team is interested in him, perhaps later in the summer.
