REPORTING: Coach Prime acknowledged the “Original Buffs,” and Adalius Thomas was added to Colorado’s team.

Every facet of Deion Sanders’ first meeting with the Colorado players in December 2022 was reported. Numerous players accessed the link right away, and Boulder’s roster turnover persisted over the off-season. However, Coach Prime took over at CU and left 11 guys on the Buffs roster, the most of them were walk-ons.

This past week at practice, Sanders acknowledged the group in front of the team and revealed that they will be wearing a “O.B.” patch on their shirts.

Coach Prime declared, “These guys are the O.B.’s, Original Buffaloes.” “They’ve been through hell and high water; always treat them with respect and love.” And what do you know? They remain in this place. I am pleased with each and every one of them. I admire all of you guys and am proud of you. Let’s continue our effort.”

The players that were on Colorado’s 2022 squad and are still with the team are quarterback Colton Allen, running back Charlie Offerdahl, tight ends Louis Passarello and Brady Kopetz, offensive lineman Ben Reznik, linebacker Trevor Woods, cornerback Braden Keith, safeties Ben Finneseth and Austin Dahlke, kicker Cristiano Palazzo, and long snapper Camden Dempsey.

When the team got back together for summer work, Sanders also assigned Dempsey the role of “the Governor” in front of them.

“The governor will be our spokesperson and he will stick to the facts if the media tries to criticize us for any malfunction. That’s the real him, remarked Coach Prime. “He’s going to be something one day—I promise you—a mayor, a governor, or something else entirely. This man has my faith.

They will approach him regarding you because he is our spokesperson, and he will be honest. He’s going to speak the truth, not what you or I would want him to say. Thus, the Governor’s role is that. It is likely that you will see him in the media frequently since they will have to bow to him in order to learn the truth about the bullshit that you may or may not do.

Dempsey, a walk-on from Lakewood (Colo.) High School, enrolled in CU’s program in 2021. The previous season, he made his debut for the Buffs field-goal block squad at home against Arizona.

“This is where I’m starting my fourth season. In a video posted on Reach The People Media, Dempsey stated, “This program is really important to me because I have been here for a long time.” “I’ve witnessed a lot of folks come and go from those seats during my time here. Those who have left have mostly done so because they are incapable of holding themselves or their teammates accountable.

“I promise to be honest and straightforward with all of you and the coaches. In the event that you need anything, I want you to come to me first of all. In particular, our new guys should come to me with any needs; I’ve got you covered. I’m hoping we can turn this into a squad that is actually led by players.”
