JUST IN: Neil Pinkerton Sends clear message after stadium tenancy was voted down by council

After controversially losing out on a play-off spot this season, Neil Pinkerton is optimistic that Gateshead

“will be in a position to be promoted next season.”

The team led by Rob Elliot placed sixth, but was cruelly eliminated from the final shootout just a day after the regular season concluded due to a lack of a 10-year lease on the council-owned Gateshead International Stadium.

A statement from the EFL claimed that although they had collaborated with Gateshead to find a solution over the previous two seasons, their exclusion was due to “avoidable circumstances.”
