Three outstanding loan agreements that Derby County ought to think about bringing on board
FLW examines the players the Rams may be able to bring to Pride Park this summer on a loan from the Premier League.
On the last day, Paul Warne’s team defeated Carlisle United at Pride Park to earn promotion.
Several players, some of whom were brought on loan at the start or halfway through the season, emerged as key members of the Rams team over the campaign.
Bobby Clark
Bobby Clark joined Liverpool in 2022 after working his way up through the ranks at Birmingham City and Newcastle United. He has made a few appearances during Jürgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield.
The 19-year-old has made 24 appearances for the Reds in all competitions; his most memorable was when a youthful Liverpool team defeated Chelsea at Wembley to win the Carabao Cup.
However, except from that February day, the midfielder has not been seen in or around the first squad very often, which has surprised people considering the quality he has showed in his limited appearances this season. Many think a player who they expect to be on Merseyside for long time would be far better off on loan.
Given that Derby and Liverpool have already worked together to facilitate Kaide Gordon’s transfer to the team, it appears plausible that Clark will sign a loan with Derby in the summer. He is a hard-working player who enjoys pressing from the front, but he can also offer the Rams’ front line versatility and poise, which they now lack.
